The Charlatans were an American folk rock and psychedelic rock band that played a role in the development of the San Francisco Haight-Ashbury music scene during the 1960s. "Over Rising" is the fourth single by the English alternative rock band the Charlatans, released on 25 February 1991. Around this time, the American Charlatans threatened to sue the UK band, as their albums were being re-released, for $3.5 million if they tried promoting themselves as simply the Charlatans in the US.
