In November 2023, Chaserider replaced National Express West Midlands on service 5 (Wolverhampton to Codsall) on evenings and Sundays. Day time journeys are operated by Banga Buses. In June 2024, saw the extension of the 63 Cannock to Rugeley via Brereton linking onto Uttoxeter with some journeys subcontracted to Bus Link.
The village has a regular hourly bus service (service 70, Mon-Sat) to Wolverhampton and Cannock. The bus service is run by D&G Bus trading as Chaserider. In addition Select Bus service 67 runs three times daily Mon-Fri between Wolverhampton and Cannock via Wedge Mills and Bushbury. This latter service also serves Featherstone Prison.
Service 70 and 71 continue to provide a half-hourly link to Cannock but service 70 no longer serves New Cross Hospital and the 71 only serves Wolverhampton on a few journeys. Select Bus operates school services 67S and 71A that run during term time to Cheslyn Hay Academy. Chaserider Service 70 also calls in at the school twice daily.
In 2018 the Cannock depot began closing entirely on Sundays due to county council subsidy cuts, leaving Cannock without buses, with the Cannock depot being sold to D&G bus in January 2021. In 2023, Arriva announced that it planned to close the Oswestry depot as a result of low patronage and financial difficulties following the Covid-19 pandemic.
