The Country Day School (CDS) is an independent, non-profit, preparatory, co-educational day school in King City, Ontario, Canada. [1] It was founded in 1972. The Country Day School movement is a movement in progressive education that originated in the United States during the late 19th century. Country Day Schools sought to recreate the educational rigor, atmosphere, camaraderie and character-building aspects of the best college-prep boarding schools, [citation needed] while allowing students to return to their families at the end of the day.
Keith Country Day School was founded in 1916 by Charlotte Belle Emerson Keith. [1]Situated on a 15-acre (61,000 m 2) campus adjacent to Rockford's Sinnissippi Park and overlooking the Rock River, Keith School, as it is commonly referred to, is located at 1 Jacoby Place, on the site of the former Shoudy Mansion and carriage house.
