Old St. Mary's Church, also known as St. Mary's Church of Ireland Church, [1] is a medieval church in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is believed to have been built in 1204 by William de Burgh , [ 2 ] and was referenced in a letter dated August 1228.

A small section of the town walls remains in place near Old St. Mary's Church. This church was originally built in the 14th century or earlier but has been reconstructed or renovated on numerous occasions.
The exterior has been re-pointed and restored. Within the church is a late medieval altar tomb, which came from the White Mortuary Chapel in St Mary's Church, Clonmel; it was brought here after the chapel was demolished in 1805. [3] A Romanesque fragment survives: a sandstone coign with chevron carvings, similar to that at Clonmacnoise. [8]
