According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 17.9 square miles (46.3 km 2), of which 17.7 square miles (45.9 km 2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km 2) (0.67%) is water. The south quarter of the city of Pine River is located within Wilson Township geographically but is a separate entity.
