Drafts are pages in the Draft namespace (draftspace) where new articles [note 1] can be created and developed, for a limited period of time. [note 2] They allow editors to develop new articles and to receive feedback before being moved to Wikipedia's article namespace (mainspace). If you are logged in, creating a Draft version first is optional.
More generally, a Wikipedia namespace is a class of pages that falls under a common type. All pages in the User namespace, for example, are user pages, whereas Drafts are in the Draft namespace. This page is in the Wikipedia namespace, for information or discussions about the project itself and its policies.
Only encyclopedia articles are created without a namespace prefix. All pages outside of the article mainspace are prefixed by the namespace followed by a colon before the title, e.g., your user page's title starts with the prefix User: The various namespaces are shown in the table to the right.
A userspace draft is a draft of an article (or part of an article) associated with a specific user account and stored in the user namespace. Userspace drafts are distinct from drafts located in the Draft namespace. You must create a user account to have your own userspace, and you must be logged in to use it. Explanation:
To add a category to a user space draft, edit the article and add the category using the syntax [[:Category:Category name]] at the bottom of the article, e.g. [[:Category:Mind-body interventions]]. The colon syntax will not add your draft to the listing of articles in the category, but will list the categories as links at the bottom of the article.
