The Stafford Village Four Corners Historic District is located at the junction of New York state routes 5 and 237 in Stafford, New York, United States. It is a collection of six buildings of various types from the 19th century, one of which is the oldest house in Genesee County .
Stafford is a town in Genesee County, New York, United States. The population was 2,424 at the 2020 census. [2] The town was named after a town of the same name in England. Stafford is one of only two interior towns in Genesee County, lying in the east central part of the county, east of Batavia.
However, as the number of court cases in Stafford grew, it became necessary to commission a more modern courthouse for both Crown Court hearings and County Court hearings. The site selected by the Lord Chancellor's Department , on the east side of Victoria Square, had been occupied by an old cattle market.

The town of Stafford was an ancient borough, being described as a borough in the Domesday Book of 1086. [2] Its earliest surviving charter was issued by King John in 1206. [3] Stafford was formally incorporated in 1614 by a charter from James I, which also granted the right to appoint a mayor. [4]
