The order of precedence is based on their year of establishment as a university. Only Uppsala University (est. 1477 [1]) and Lund University (est. 1666 [2]) were actually founded as universities, whereas all the other universities were raised from högskola (university college) status to the higher university status after they had been founded.
It became a university college under the County Council of Värmland County in 1978. It has been a department of Karlstad University since 2002. The college trains music teachers, audio engineers and music therapists. It also gives high music education for singers and instrumentists with the Bachelor, Master and Artist Diploma programs.

Bo Dahlin (born 1948) is a Swedish educationalist.He is Professor of Education at Karlstad University and Professor II at Rudolf Steiner University College in Oslo.Dahlin's research is focused on didactics, especially philosophical and phenomenographic studies of learning in different contexts, e.g. how people in different cultures perceive learning, knowledge and understanding.
