A functional flow block diagram (FFBD) is a multi-tier, time-sequenced, step-by-step flow diagram of a system's functional flow. [2] The term "functional" in this context is different from its use in functional programming or in mathematics, where pairing "functional" with "flow" would be ambiguous.
The concept is embodied in the form of a "flow sheet". Process design then proceeds on the basis of the flow sheet chosen. Physical property data are the other component needed for process design apart from a flow sheet. The result of process design is a process flow diagram, PFD.
A PFD can be computer generated from process simulators (see List of Chemical Process Simulators), CAD packages, or flow chart software using a library of chemical engineering symbols. Rules and symbols are available from standardization organizations such as DIN, ISO or ANSI. Often PFDs are produced on large sheets of paper.

A cheat sheet that is used contrary to the rules of an exam may need to be small enough to conceal in the palm of the hand Cheat sheet in front of a juice box. A cheat sheet (also cheatsheet) or crib sheet is a concise set of notes used for quick reference. Cheat sheets were historically used by students without an instructor or teacher's ...
The complexities involved in studying sheet flows, including the need for advanced modeling techniques to accurately simulate flow dynamics and sediment transport mechanisms. The development and application of new models to describe fine sediment behavior in sheet flows are discussed, reflecting ongoing advancements in this field of research. [5]
