Nami and Camie escape to the Sea Forest, where they meet Jimbei, a fish-man pirate who formerly served as a World Government Warlord and released Arlong into the East Blue. Nami comforts Jimbei after he tells the history of discrimination rooted into Fish-Man Island and expresses his guilt over Arlong.
Jimbei and Neptune talk about how Jimbei might join the Straw Hats and putting a new pirate flag in Fishman Island which is the Straw Hat Pirate flag. Later, the Minister of the Right tells King Neptune that the Tamate Box is gone and it might explode in the hands of Luffy if he opens it.
Luffy and most of the Straw Hats flee and eventually regroup with Jimbei. They learn that Jimbei released Arlong into the East Blue, and also learn of the island's history. In a flashback, the Sun Pirates, a pirate group led by Fisher Tiger which includes Jimbei and Arlong, become infamous.
Jimbei convinces Luffy that he cannot afford to waste time fighting Blackbeard when he needs to hurry and save Ace. Crocodile questions why Blackbeard would attack the prison when doing so would mean giving up his Warlord title, but Blackbeard reveals that it is part of a larger plan.
Jimbei and Luffy hijack a Marine ship and enter Marineford again using the Gates of Justice. At the Birdie Kingdom, the local tribe gives Chopper a basket of fruit and cotton candy. Chopper eventually flies off with one of the kingdom's birds and discovers a newspaper, much to his horror.
Big Mom takes Jimbei to her castle in order to discuss Jimbei's request, and as they walk, Jimbei recalls his past experience with Luffy. Meanwhile, the Sanji Retrieval Team sails into the Mixed Juice Current, where the sea is composed of several juices.
