The manor house known as Rudloe Manor is adjacent to the northern outpost of the site, north of the A4 road at grid reference. The house dates from the 13th century and was rebuilt c.1685. It was designated as Grade II* listed in 1985 [18] along with a 12th century Tithe Barn to the south-west and 17th century entrance way, both Grade II listed.

Rudloe Manor, west elevation. Rudloe Manor is a 17th-century Grade II* listed manor house in Box parish, Wiltshire, England. The Manor stands at the top of Box Hill in Rudloe, on the western outskirts of Corsham, about 7 miles (11 km) north-east of the city of Bath. The Manor is recorded from the early 13th century and was rebuilt in c.1685. [1]
Mr. Holway was a Lumber Baron and Local Businessman. The Diocese of La Crosse purchased the residence in 1921 for the Bishop of La Crosse. It later served as a Seminary and finally was being used as a Convent by the late 1950s. The Diocese sold the property in 1974. It currently is run as Castle La Crosse Bed and Breakfast. Margaret Mitchell came up with the idea for The Twelve Oaks, and modeled the home after an actual antebellum mansion located in the historic area of Covington, Georgia .
The manor house was completed shortly before 1789 (or 1780) and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Trepagnier (née Elizabeth Reynaud, m. 1777 [4]) and their eight children.
