Lacey Nicole Sturm (née Mosley, previously Carder; born September 4, 1981) [1] is an American singer and songwriter, known for being lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Flyleaf. In February 2016, Sturm became the first solo female artist to top the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart with her debut release Life Screams .
Flyleaf is an American rock band formed in Belton, Texas, in 2002. [2] The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop , and Christian metal charts. They performed around the US in 2003 before releasing their eponymous debut album, Flyleaf , in 2005.
It was produced by Howard Benson, [14] who has produced several of Flyleaf's previous recordings. It was the final album with lead vocalist Lacey Sturm, who announced her departure from the band, just prior to the album's release, in October 2012. [15] [16] Sturm rejoined the band in 2022.
Kristen May (born September 28, 1982) is an American singer, best known as the former lead singer of the rock bands Vedera and Flyleaf. After Vedera disbanded in 2011, May replaced Lacey Sturm as the lead singer of Flyleaf. May released her solo album Conversations in 2015, before leaving Flyleaf in 2016.
