Beachy Head Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in the English Channel below the cliffs of Beachy Head in East Sussex. It is 33 m (108 ft) in height and became operational in October 1902. [ 4 ] It was the last traditional-style 'rock tower' (i.e. offshore lighthouse) to be built by Trinity House .
The 2019 film Hope Gap, starring Bill Nighy and Annette Bening was against the backdrop of Seaford Head. The film is named after the distinctive area of chalk cliff between Seaford and Cuckmere Haven. In 2020, Jessica Swale's feature film debut Summerland premiered, shot around the Seaford area, featuring numerous views of the Seven Sisters.
The South Downs are a range of chalk hills in the south-eastern coastal counties of England that extends for about 260 sq mi (670 km 2) [1] across the south-eastern coastal counties of England from the Itchen valley of Hampshire in the west to Beachy Head, in the Eastbourne Downland Estate, East Sussex, in the east.
The headland of Beachy Head lies within the national park, seen here with the Belle Tout Lighthouse. The national park is administered by the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA). The body was established on 1 April 2010, and became fully functioning, including becoming the planning authority for the national park, on 1 April 2011. [10]

[4] The calls were ignored for over 100 years until The Thames, an East Indiaman, crashed into the rocks off Beachy Head.
Seaford Head is a 150.2-hectare (371-acre) Local Nature Reserve east of Seaford in East Sussex. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It is part of Seaford to Beachy Head Site of Special Scientific Interest . [ 3 ] An area of 83 hectares (210 acres) is owned by Seaford Town Council and managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust .
