Anthony Michael Mortimer (born 21 October 1970) is a British singer, songwriter and record producer from London. He is a former member of the boy band East 17, who were originally active from 1991 to 1997 and sold over 20 million records worldwide. Mortimer wrote most of the band's songs, including their only number-one single, "Stay Another Day".
Burden is the daughter of socialite Babe Paley and her first husband, Stanley G. Mortimer Jr. (1913–1999), an heir to the Standard Oil fortune. [2] She is a descendant of the first chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, John Jay, and a granddaughter of Dr. Harvey Cushing, the "Father of American Neurosurgery" and Pulitzer Prize winning author.
Mortimer was born in Tuxedo, New York, on May 12, 1913. He was the eldest of six children born to Stanley Grafton Mortimer (1890–1947) [1] and Kathleen Hunt (nee Tilford) Mortimer (1890–1970). [2] His father was a stockbroker and U.S. amateur court tennis champion. [1]
