New London Ledge Lighthouse is a lighthouse on the Thames River in the U.S. state of Connecticut, at the mouth of New London Harbor. It was built in 1909 in the Second Empire style and was automated in 1987. In 1990, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Penfield Reef Lighthouse in 1990. [ 1 ] [ 12 ] In 2015, the Coast Guard executed a substantial rehabilitation project at the lighthouse, designed by architect Marsha Levy of the Coast Guard's Civil Engineering Unit Providence, to address the damage from Hurricane Sandy.

[4] The lighthouse has been described as being "similar to the masonry towers built earlier, (New London Harbor Light, New Haven Harbor (Five Mile Point) Light, and Faulkner's Island Light), but Lynde Point is considered to represent the finest work of the three".
