The Green Berets is a 1968 American war film directed by John Wayne and Ray Kellogg, and starring Wayne, David Janssen and Jim Hutton, based on the 1965 novel by Robin Moore. Much of the film was shot in the summer of 1967.

Fielden Edward Faulkner II (born February 29, 1932, in Lexington, Kentucky) is an American film and television character actor.He is most known for his roles in John Wayne films, including Hellfighters, The Green Berets, Rio Lobo, McLintock! and The Undefeated.
Both films would later be parodied in Mystery Science Theater 3000. He co-directed The Green Berets in 1968 with John Wayne, a controversial war film set during the then conflict in Vietnam that involved the US Army. He died in Ontario, California of cancer. [1]
