National figure skating championships for the 2023–24 season took place mainly from December 2023 to January 2024. They were held to crown national champions and to serve as part of the selection process for international events, such as the 2024 ISU Championships and Youth Olympics.
For ice dance and pairs, U.S. Figure Skating Championships discontinued Novice, Intermediate and Juvenile competition starting in the 2019-20 season, [3] [7] but brought back Novice ice dance and Novice pairs for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. [8] [9]
The ISU World Standings for single & pair skating and ice dance, are taking into account results of the preceding two seasons and the current season, and remains the basis for the draws at ISU events and part of the criteria for the selection of competitors for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and other ISU events designated by the ISU Council.

It was later reintroduced and then eliminated again after the 2012 World Championships. After the short program, the top 24 single skaters and top 20 pairs advance to the free skate. In ice dance, the top 30 teams in the compulsory dance advanced to the original dance, and the top 24 after that segment advanced to the free dance.
The Four Continents Figure Skating Championships (4CC) is an annual figure skating competition.The International Skating Union established it in 1999 to provide skaters representing non-European countries with a similar competition to the much older European Figure Skating Championships.
