Sick of Shion and Shuna's tug-a-war for his attention, Rimuru decides to make a cushion in his image. Acquiring spandex for the exterior, Rimuru is stumped on a substitute for Styrofoam pellets. Learning of a special sand that's similar, Rimuru takes a group to a lake to collect it.
When they challenge Shion, Rimuru has them fight in the arena. After Shion easily defeats them, scaring Rimuru a bit, they reveal that Dagruel is their father and he had sent them to Tempest to train under Rimuru. Shion agrees to become their mentor and the Bovoids and the Equinoids both swear loyalty to Rimuru after watching the fight.
Rimuru entrusts the children's education to Tiss and returns to Tempest. After being updated on the events that transpired during his absence, Rimuru starts negotiations to establish diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Eurazania, led by Carrion, by meeting with the Three Beastketeers, which results in Shion fighting one of them.
