Cuttings were entered into the Indianapolis 500 in 1911 and 1912, placing top 15 in the former year but crashing mid-race in the latter. The company failed c. 1913 due to lack of sufficient initial capital; liabilities exceeded $350,000. It was sold in October 1913 for $30,000 (and assumption of two mortgages) to L. C. Erbes.
