Les amitiés particulières (English: Special Friendships) is a 1964 film adaptation of the Roger Peyrefitte novel of the same name, directed by Jean Delannoy.It was released in 1967 with English subtitles as This Special Friendship.
The film made a successful debut in France in 1981 with 2,281,569 admissions, and had success in the U.S. the next year, grossing $2,678,103. [2] The film was selected as the French entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 54th Academy Awards, but was not nominated. Diva became a cult classic and was internationally acclaimed.
The film was released in the U.S. as The Grand Highway, in French with English subtitles. [1] Claude Lecomte served as director of photography, with camera operator Jean Paul Meurisse and film editor Raymonde Guyot. [ 1 ]
