Pleasant Ridge is home to many artists and musicians. On October 11, 2008 Pleasant Ridge and neighboring community Kennedy Heights formed an Alliance called District A, a grassroots effort to build community partnerships and fuel economic development through the arts along the Montgomery Road corridor that is the main thoroughfare for both communities.
By 1908, the residents of Bullitt Park, north of Main Street, and Pleasant Ridge, south of Main Street, decided to merge their neighborhoods and incorporated as the Village of Bexley. The village reached the 5,000 population mark required by the state of Ohio to become a city in 1928 and, on January 1, 1932, officially became a city.
Pleasant Run Farm is named after the Pleasant Run Farms residential subdivision, which hosted the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati's fifth annual Homearama show in 1965. At 670 acres (270 ha), it was the largest subdivision approved by the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission up to that time.
