Prego Della Piazza was opened in 1987 by Michael Carlevale, an Italian chef from Boston. [1] After the closure of Bemelmans in 1994, Prego received increased popularity, with celebrities like Johnny Depp and Paris Hilton dining there due to the restaurant's no-camera policies.
