Jeffrey Jacob Abrams (born June 27, 1966) [1] is an American filmmaker and composer. He is best known for his works in the genres of action, drama, and science fiction.Abrams wrote and produced such films as Regarding Henry (1991), Forever Young (1992), Armageddon (1998), Cloverfield (2008), Star Trek (2009), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

The Man in Black (also called "The Smoke Monster" or simply "The Monster") is the main antagonist of the American ABC television series Lost. [1] [2] He appeared as a cloud of black smoke until the final episode of season five where he appeared as a middle-aged man dressed in black.
In January 2004 Braun contacted J. J. Abrams, who developed the TV series Alias for ABC, to write a new pilot script, which would retain the title Lost. [5] Although initially hesitant, Abrams warmed up to the idea on the condition that the series would have a supernatural angle to it and he was assigned a writing partner.
