    Leaving a note here, since I'm not sure the edit warring IP is checking their talk page: Sonic fansites are generally not seen as reliable/usable sources on Wikipedia. Even Sonic Retro. Don't get me wrong, they're an incredible resource for reading as a fan. I love them. But they're not a usable source on Wikipedia.

My best guess would be that they used Sonic Retro forums or something, but that's not in the source given. visual element to "keep things fresh" - replace with "visual element to provide a new dynamic" or any rewording really to get rid of the quote.
