Berserk (Japanese: ベルセルク, Hepburn: Beruseruku) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura.Set in a medieval Europe–inspired dark fantasy world, the story centers on the characters of Guts, a lone swordsman, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the "Band of the Hawk".
The dynamic and turbulent relationship between Guts and Griffith forms the primary focus of the manga. During the Eclipse, to achieve his dream of obtaining a kingdom, he sacrifices the Band of the Hawk to become the new member of the God Hand and is rechristened as "the wings of darkness" Femto (Japanese: フェムト, Hepburn: Femuto).
The 2003 Box of War contains all 25 episodes of Berserk. The 1997 Berserk anime series is based on the manga series of the same name by Kentaro Miura. The episodes are directed by Naohito Takahashi and animated by Oriental Light and Magic. The first thirteen volumes of the manga are covered.

Berserk, also known in Japan as Kenpū Denki Berserk, [a] is a Japanese anime television series based on Kentaro Miura's manga series Berserk. The series follows Guts , a skilled mercenary warrior who gets entangled with the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary group, and its ambitious leader, Griffith .
Guts and Casca are separated from The Band of the Hawk, and fend off attacks by the Tudor's cruel commander Adon and his men. Guts defeats most of Adon's men while covering Casca's escape, but begins to lament his life's path and decides he will eventually leave the Band of the Hawk, find and pursue his own dream, and become a true friend to Griffith.
