Morna Anne Murray CC ONS (born June 20, 1945) is a Canadian retired singer of pop, country, and adult contemporary music, who has sold over 55 million album copies worldwide during her over 40-year career.
Dawn Joanne Langstroth (born April 16, 1979) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and painter. Raised in Toronto, she has released two EPs, self-titled Dawn Langstroth and No Mercy, and released her debut album Highwire in 2009. Langstroth is the daughter of singer Anne Murray and former CBC television producer Bill Langstroth (Singalong Jubilee).
The series was produced by Manny Pittson in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and was co-hosted by music producer Bill Langstroth and singer Jim Bennet. (Langstroth was Anne Murray's future husband), with Brian Ahern as the music director. The programme's theme song was "Farewell to Nova Scotia".
Murray performs mainly at Covent Garden (where she performed as Siphare in Mozart's Mitridate, re di Ponto), the English National Opera and the Bavarian State Opera. Murray was the featured singer in volume three of the Hyperion Schubert Edition, Hyperion Records' complete Franz Schubert lieder project, in 1988, led by pianist Graham Johnson.
She also sang a duet with Ann Wilson on the Heart singer's solo album Hope & Glory covering the Lucinda Williams song "Jackson". In 2007, she teamed up with one of her childhood idols, Anne Murray, on a remake of Anne's hit, "A Love Song", that was featured on Anne's album Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends.
