This template provides a WCAG/ISO standards–compliant accessible alternative to <br />-separated lists, per WP:UBLIST and WP:PLIST. It uses proper HTML list markup, which is more standards-compliant and more accessible than separating list items with <br />. Detailed reasons for using this template can be found at WP:UBLIST.
HTML formatting can be used to create rich lists, including items with internal paragraph breaks. Using images with lists requires some care. For infoboxes, a bulleted list can be converted to unbulleted or horizontal style with simple templates, to suppress both the large bullets and the indentation.
In mobile, the browser adds an invisible bullet (as in: bulleted list). The bullet is invisible, but does take whitespace (visual indenting). This happens on my mobile browser (iPhone) and the wikipage-show-mobile option (in-desktop mobile view). Actually, when the page is being visually rendered, for a moment the bullets show.
Numbered and bulleted lists are created using standard wiki markup. In cases where a plain list without number or bullet is desired, such as in an infobox, many editors will simply create a list using breaks. This method does not apply the semantics of a list, and for those using screen readers it will not sound like a list.
