The Battle of Highbury was a football match between England and Italy that took place on 14 November 1934 at Arsenal Stadium, Highbury, London. England won 3–2 in a hotly contested and frequently violent match.
England and Italy had previously met 27 times, their first encounter taking place in 1933, a 1–1 draw in Rome. Before the final, Italy had won ten of these meetings, England eight and nine were draws. Their most recent meeting was a 2018 friendly in London, also a 1–1 draw.
England have dominated the matches between the sides despite some excellent, spirited displays by Italy, who have yet to register their first win or draw in the fixture. The closest result between the two sides came in the opening round of the 2024 Six Nations Championship tournament, with England winning by a three-point margin.
