You can put it in standby by pressing down on the play/pause button for a few seconds and the iPod will turn off, meaning it's on standby. I just got a new Ipod Touch 7th generation. I can't turn the passcode off. When I go to Settings->Passcode and enter my passcode, then select the Turn Off Passcode link, I get a popup asking if I'm sure. I select yes, but nothing happens.
