Soundwave happens to be monitoring the conversation and Megatron orders Lazerbeak to find out more. The Autobots return to "Dinobot Island" followed by Lazerbeak, who reports back to Megatron that the island is full of energy sources. Starscream warns of a strange wave reading but Megatron invades the island anyway.
The first season (consisting of sixteen episodes - a movie-length beginning later divided into a 3-part story and 13 ordinary episodes afterward) began on December 26, 2007, with its movie-length/later three-part premiere "Transform and Roll Out", and ended on April 5, 2008, with part 2 of "Megatron Rising".
During their clash, Megatron fatally shoots Bumblebee, but the scout is revived by the Omega Lock's Cyber Matter and kills Megatron, regaining his voice. Starscream and Shockwave escape, and the Autobots restore Cybertron.

In Season 1, Starscream betrays and tries to kill Megatron in the first episode. Megatron learns about this soon after and kills Starscream in the season finale. In Season 2, a battle between Autobots and Decepticons destroys the Allspark, but Starscream is resurrected by a shard of the Allspark that had been embedded on his forehead.
