Byrd was best known for his association with Brazilian music, especially bossa nova. In 1962, he collaborated with Stan Getz on the album Jazz Samba, a recording which brought bossa nova into the mainstream of North American music. Byrd played fingerstyle on a classical guitar.

Miguel Ablóniz, also known as Michelis Ablonitis (29 May 1917 – 19 July 2001) [1] [2] was a Greek-Italian guitarist and composer who composed and performed in diverse styles, including classical and Bossa Nova. Ablóniz began playing the guitar at the age of eight in self-study.
