Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, collectively known as the Ghost Gang, are a quartet of colorful ghost characters from the Pac-Man video game franchise. Created by Toru Iwatani , they first appear in the 1980 arcade game Pac-Man as the sole antagonists.
When Pac-Man eats all of the dots, the player advances to the next level. Levels are indicated by fruit icons at the bottom of the screen. In between levels are short cutscenes featuring Pac-Man and Blinky in humorous, comical situations. If Pac-Man is caught by a ghost, he loses a life; the game ends when all lives are lost.
Pac-Man also has four friendly ghosts (Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde) that surrendered and vowed to help him along his voyage (in exchange for being restored to the living world). Pac-Man vows to stop Betrayus and the ghosts (or any other bad guy) from taking over Pac-World while searching for his long-lost parents.
Betrayus finds out Pac-Man's weakness is food. So Betrayus forces Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde to make Pac too full to eat ghosts. When the ghosts steal too much food, President Spheros limits him to three meals a day, but Betrayus makes him eat Netherworld food.

Kinky wanders around and can merge with other ghosts to give them special abilities, such as giving Clyde (Blinky) the ability to dash, giving Pinky the ability to jump close to Pac-Man, giving Inky the ability to create a mirror clone which can harm Pac-Man, and giving Blinky (Clyde) the ability to produce big Pac-Dots.
