The ESB was established by the fledgling Irish Free State government under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 to manage Ireland's electricity supply after the successful Shannon Scheme at Ardnacrusha. The scheme was Ireland's first large-scale electricity plant – and at the time, it provided 80% of the total energy demands of Ireland.
Electric Picnic began as a one-day event in 2004, before growing to a weekend-long festival within a year. The festival incorporates attractions such as the 24-hour cinema tent, the Body and Soul arena (offering an ambient lounge with beanbags, massages and tarot card readings) and the Comedy Tent [8] (curated by Gerry Mallon) and a silent disco.

Held since 2008 with major contributions from the Lagos Jazz Society, the Lagos International Jazz Festival is a three-day event. The 2016 festival was split between a two-day standard edition held at Freedom Park, Lagos, and a one-day luxury edition happening at The Bay Lounge Waterfront, Lekki, [3] [4] with both events commencing at 6pm.
Jape are an Irish electronic–rock band from Dublin.Formed as a side project by Richie Egan whilst part of The Redneck Manifesto, [3] they have released five albums to date; Cosmosphere (2003), The Monkeys in the Zoo Have More Fun Than Me (2004), Ritual (2008), Ocean of Frequency (2011), and This Chemical Sea (2015).

The Trial was renamed to New Trial between 1993 and 2003 – this had two reasons: 1993 had to clean the slate and the group wanted to contrast from the nearly homonymous electro-band Trial. In 2003 the old name was readopted. Since 2005 the old and new names have been protected. [19] [20] [21] [22]
