St. Mary's Church was built between 1838 and 1839 to designs by the architect J.G. Jackson. [1] 1897 saw a vicarage purchased at 15 St Mary's Road for £1,500 and the current vicarage (number 28) is also on the same street as the church.
The Revd. Edward Willes died in 1820, and his son, also Edward, began to sell parts of the estate for building in 1823 as Leamington grew into a spa town. [4] In all the Willes family held Newbold Comyn for over 400 years, until they sold most of the remaining estate to Leamington Corporation after the end of the Second World War.
