The Emeline Fairbanks Memorial Library played an important role in Coca-Cola history. In June 1915, Earl R. Dean and T. Clyde Edwards were dispatched to the Emeline Fairbanks Memorial Library to research the ingredients of Coca-Cola. In the Encyclopædia Britannica, Dean came across a picture of a gourd-shaped cocoa pod.
Indiana State University-Evansville (now University of Southern Indiana) was created as a branch campus in 1965. Like Ball State University (formerly Indiana State University-Muncie), it became an independent institution of higher education when it was granted independent standing as the University of Southern Indiana in 1985. State Normal Library, also known as the Normal Hall, is a historic library building located on the campus of Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. It was built between 1907 and 1909, and is a three-story, Classical Revival style brick and limestone building. An addition was constructed in 1957, creating an "L"-plan.
The Lilly Library is located on the southern side of a small square in the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus. Showalter Fountain is in the middle of the square. The Indiana State Library and Historical Bureau is a public library building, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the largest public library in the state of Indiana, housing over 60,000 manuscripts. Established in 1934, the library has gathered a large collection of books on a vast variety of topics.
