The main shrine accommodates the image of Shiva known as Vedapureeswarar and Parvati as his consort Balambigai. Like the Shiva temples in Thondai Nadu, the sanctum houses lingam (the aniconic symbol of Shiva) and the images of Shiva and Parvati in wedding posture.
