New Myth/Old Science is an album by Living by Lanterns, a Chicago-based project with invited guest musicians from New York co-led by drummer Mike Reed and vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz, which was formed specifically to play arrangements of rare Sun Ra tunes. The Lakeside Press Building is a historic commercial building located at 731 S. Plymouth Ct. in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The building served as a showroom, office, and printing press for the Lakeside Press. The building was built in two stages; the southern half was completed in 1897, while the northern half was finished in 1901.
The company was founded in 1840 when its founder, 22-year-old Robert Edwin Dietz, purchased a lamp and oil business in Brooklyn, New York. Though famous for well-built indoor and outdoor kerosene lanterns, it was a major player in the automotive lighting industry from the 1920s into the 1960s.
