The story is a variant on "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", when Donald Duck tries to set up an orchestra for "Maestro Mickey" using the famous Sorcerer's Hat. But the orchestra turns on him and Donald must journey through several Disney musical numbers to get the hat back for Mickey. The show first opened in October 2003.
Mickey takes the hat and uses its magic to bring a broom to life to help him retrieve water from the well. However, he is unable to control the magic, and the basement floods after he falls asleep. Eventually, Sid arrives and undoes the spell. Afterwards, he takes back his hat and broom and sends Mickey to finish his chores.
The film, celebrating Donald Duck's 10th anniversary, consists of seven segments, each connected by a common theme.
