Sign and entrance on Main Road, Rondebosch. The Baxter Theatre Centre is a performing arts complex in Rondebosch, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. The Baxter, as it is often known, is part of the University of Cape Town; it is also the second largest performing arts complex in Cape Town, after the Artscape Theatre Centre.
The two actresses themselves performed leading roles in this and later productions. In 1957 the theatre opened again in the usual location but with the larger dimensions it has occupied ever since. The Fugard Theatre, also known as The Fugard, was opened in the District Six area of Cape Town, South Africa, in February 2010. It closed in March 2021 and was handed over to the District Six Museum by its founder Eric Abraham.
