In the early 2000s, Catasauqua built a new high school in Allen Township and remodeled the former high school, changing it into the Catasauqua Middle School. The old middle school, Lincoln Middle School, was purchased by Allentown developer Abraham Atiyeh at a cost of $900,000.
The four-story Italianate school building was designed by David Riebel, as his second school building commission in the neighborhood, after Southwood Elementary School. The Metro Schools are a semi-public network of three schools located in Columbus, Ohio, United States, on Ohio State University's campus: Metro Early College High School (MECHS), and Metro Middle School (MECMS). The Metro Institute of Technology, the third branch of the school, closed in 2017.
