Osamu Dazai (Japanese: 太宰 治, Hepburn: Osamu Dazai) is a fictional character featured in the manga series Bungo Stray Dogs, written by Kafka Asagiri and drawn by Sango Harukawa. He is a member of the Armed Detective Agency who mentors the protagonist, Atsushi Nakajima , into his group while dealing with other enemies facing them.
Atsushi manages to knock Kirako unconscious but ends up strangling Naomi. As Q manipulates others' minds through hallucinations, Atsushi is once again thrown back into his trauma and cycle of self-pity. Dazai, who initially refused an offer relayed by Higuchi to rejoin the Port Mafia, is told of Q's release and hastens back to stop them.
Dazai slips Kunikida a note and takes Atsushi to a warehouse. Atsushi explains how he was kicked out of the orphanage to save money, because the tiger had caused the financially poor orphanage a great deal of damage. Dazai concludes that Atsushi is the tiger, or rather that he has a supernatural power to transform into the tiger under moonlight.
