The New York City Marathon, currently branded as the TCS New York City Marathon for sponsorship reasons, is an annual marathon (42.195 km or 26.219 mi) that courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world, [3] [4] with 53,627 finishers in 2019 [5] and 98,247 applicants for the 2017 race. [3]
The qualifying window for the marathon and 35km race walk is 5 November 2023 until 4 May 2025. For the 10,000m, 20km race walk, combined events and relays, the window runs from 25 February 2024 to 24 August 2025. For all other events, entry standards can be achieved from 1 August 2024 to 24 August 2025.
The 2025 Diamond League will be the sixteenth season of the annual series of outdoor track and field meetings, organised by World Athletics. The competition is a revision to the top level athletics series since Diamond League foundation in 2010.
The magazine “Distance Running” is published four times a year and distributed free to runners at events organised by AIMS members. Since 2013 the organisation has hosted a gala dinner each year at which the Best Marathon Runner award is given to honour the year’s most outstanding distance athletes.
