The Geigers consolidated their theater holdings under the Neighborhood Cinema Group branding in 1992, the year the chain's Midland, Michigan theater opened. By the end of the 20th century, two more theaters, located in Lapeer and Coldwater, Michigan, had opened. The company's name was shortened to NCG in early 2000.

The Purple Rose Theatre Company is a 501(c) non-profit regional theater located in Chelsea, Michigan. It was founded in 1991 [ 1 ] by actor and playwright Jeff Daniels . [ 2 ] Its name comes from the 1985 film The Purple Rose of Cairo , [ 3 ] which starred Daniels and for which he earned his first Golden Globe nomination.
The purchase was an effort of Loeks Theatres to continue expansion in the West Michigan area. In 2018, Loeks Theatres, Inc changed their company name to Studio C.
