Accra Academy is a boys' high school located at Bubuashie near Kaneshie in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana.It admits both boarding and day students. Founded as a private school in 1931, it gained the status of a Government-Assisted School in 1950.

In 1986, he took up the position of headmaster of Accra Academy from Jacob Okine. Freeman, as headmaster, introduced a computer awareness programme into Accra Academy. [6] Freeman introduced and opened the South gate of the school's campus on the Accra-Winneba highway, and closed down the entry points on the East and West of the school. [3]
Jacob Korley Okine was born on 5 August 1926 in Accra. His parents were James Tawiah Okai and Dede Wusu. Okine's elementary education was at Accra United School. He continued at Accra Academy from 1939 to 1945. There, he was the headboy in his final year. [2] He studied at the intermediate department of Achimota College from 1946 to 1948

In 1934, he became a member of the teaching staff of the Accra Academy. Two year after this, he underwent a study-leave and returned to the teaching staff in 1938. In addition to his teaching duties, he served as sports master and, in 1947, he was instrumental in the admission of the Accra Academy to the fold of Aggrey Shield competing schools.
