In an interview with The New York Times, Kavner said that she does not like to talk about her work on The Simpsons because she does not want to be defined by it. She said, "I'm not Marge Simpson. I'm Julie Kavner."
Julie Kavner's voice I've been rewatching the show, and it's right around the middleish of season 23 that you can tell her voice is starting to deteriorate. I really feel sorry for her
Julie Kavner is getting old. Her voice always had a touch of Marge for real: skip to around 22:50 in this episode of The Rhoda Show, but she rasps it up a little extra for Marge (and even more for the other Bouvier women) so now it’s harder for her to do. 10.
I feel so bad for Julie Kavner. Her Marge is so painful to listen to in the past couple years. But she probably is stuck in a contract and has to do it. I don’t know how anyone expected her to do that character for 31 years. This thread is archived. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. 11 comments.
That’s just the way Julie Kavner sounds. She doesn’t change her voice to do Marge. She’s 67 years old so it’s probably due to aging. If she has any sickness or throat problems, we’ll probably never know because she’s very private and wouldn’t want the public to know. It sounds very throaty, as though the voice actress is really ...
Poor Julie Kavner. I feel so bad for Julie Kavner I was just watching the new Simpsons episode that aired two days ago called My Octopus and a Teacher and hearing Marge's voice in the episode was so depressing you can tell that it must be getting hard for her to do the character's voice I feel like the show should just give Julie a break ...
A friend of mine used to live in LA while taking acting classes and to make ends meet he worked at a coffeehouse. Julie Kavner came in one day and plunked her purse - a huge shoulder bag - down on the counter and it loudly rattled. He wondered why until she opened it up to pay for her order and he saw it was completely full of prescription bottles.
Julie Kavner needs to retire. I’ve been watching since the Tracey Ullman days when I was in elementary school. The show has seen me through college, grad school, a marriage, and births and deaths. Julie Kavner’s voice is so awful I had to turn on the closed captioning to follow this season. It breaks immersion.
VRichardsen. •. The original Latin American voice actors (they switched after 15 seasons or so) are quite beloved here, specially Humberto Vélez (Homer) and Gabriel Chávez (Mr. Burns). The latter is a special case, because Mr. Burns is incredibly popular here. Or rather, we are very fond of his antics in spite of the (many) flaws of the ...
