The University of York [7] (abbreviated as Ebor or York for post-nominals) is a public collegiate research university in York, England.Established in 1963, the university has expanded to more than thirty departments and centres, covering a wide range of subjects.
Central Hall (colloquially known as "The Spaceship" for the similar appearance to a UFO) [1] is a building of the University of York, England, designed by John Speight in the brutalist style. It was constructed in 1966–1968.

Derwent College is home to the university's Politics, [11] Education, [12] English and Related Literature, [13] and School of PPE departments. [ 14 ] Derwent College came to have a close association with Long Boi , an Indian Runner duck - Mallard cross who was most often seen Heslington Fishpond and wandering around Derwent Common. [ 15 ]
The Spring Lane Building is located between the Barrick Saul building and Derwent College, in the centre of University of York's Campus West. The building was designed by Race Cottam, and provide teaching space as well as study spots. [1]
The October 2018 issue of York Vision was removed from circulation for a back page advert that consisted of a link to an online submission form, and the heading "Send Nudes". The page received condemnation from the University of York Students' Union, which also claimed that issue had been published without their required approval. [9]
