Maryland Route 611 (MD 611) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Stephen Decatur Highway, the state highway runs 8.51 miles (13.70 km) from Assateague Island north to U.S. Route 50 (US 50) in West Ocean City. MD 611 is named for Stephen Decatur, the U.S. naval officer of the early 19th century who was born in nearby Berlin.
Swan Point is an unincorporated community in southern Charles County, Maryland, United States. [1] The Swan Point Yacht and Country Club was originally planned and initiated in the 1980s around an 18-hole waterfront championship golf course; [citation needed] Since then there has been added: a community waterfront pool, a marina, clubhouse, trails, and tennis courts.
It is roughly bordered by Erdman Avenue (Md. Rt. 151) to the northeast, Sinclair Lane to the south, Harford Road (Md. Rt. 147) to the northwest and Belair Road (U.S. Route 1) to the southeast. [2] In 1982, Sports Illustrated wrote that Dye had a reputation for transforming "unpromising" land into picturesque and challenging golf courses, that required a style of play called "target golf".

Doak's first course, High Pointe Golf Club near Williamsburg, Michigan, opened in 1989. [6] The course closed in 2008 and is expected to reopen in 2024. [7] Doak credits most of his accomplishments and success to golf course designer Pete Dye. Doak worked with Dye to learn how to construct golf courses during graduate school.
