Terry Hershey Park is a county park that runs parallel to a roughly 6-mile (9.7 km) stretch of the Buffalo Bayou in western Houston, Texas.The park is named after Terry Hershey, a conservationist who campaigned to keep the banks of Buffalo Bayou from being paved.
Terry Hershey was the first recipient. Hershey was awarded the Pugsley Medal in 2003 by the American Academy for Park & Recreation Administration and she was described by her peers as a "force of nature" for her impressive works in Houston and for being a remarkable advocate in bringing people together to resolve environmental issues.
