Starting with January 2009, Piatra Neamț is the host of a short film festival called "Filmul de Piatra" (derived from the name of the city "Piatra" which means stone (rock) and translated as "Stone-film Festival"). The 1st edition took place in the building of Teatrul Tineretului and other locations between 7th and 11 January 2009.

The Bicaz Dam. The county's main industries are Chemical industry; Mechanical parts; Textiles; Food stuffs; Construction materials; One of the greatest dams in Romania, the Bicaz Dam is built along the Bistrița River, forming the Bicaz Lake; the water of the lake is used for electricity production at Bicaz-Stejaru Hydroelectric Power Station.
It is situated 29 km (18 mi) southeast of Târgu Neamț and 30 km (19 mi) northeast of the county seat, Piatra Neamț. Războieni is crossed by the county road DJ208G, which connects it to the south to Dragomirești , Ștefan cel Mare , and Girov (where it ends in DN15D [ ro ] ) and to the east to Tupilați .
Roman is located in north-eastern Romania, in Neamț County, in the historic region of Moldavia, at the mouth of the Moldova River, a tributary to the Siret.The nearest large city is Bacău, 40 km (25 mi) away on national road DN2 and on the CFR Suceava–Bucharest railway; Piatra Neamț, the county capital, is 46 km away and Iași, the historic capital of Moldavia, is 80 km (50 mi) away.
Ceahlău commune is made up of three main villages, that of Ceahlău, along with Bistricioara on the main road from Piatra Neamț, and Pârâul Mare ("Big Stream"). All of these villages are sited in the mountains, situated along the main watercourses which flow out of the surrounding peaks and ranges.
