Sheldon High School or SHS is a 9th–12th grade college-preparatory high school located in unincorporated Vineyard, California, a southeast suburb of Sacramento that is also north of Elk Grove. The school was established in 1997 as part of the Elk Grove Unified School District .

Mods are 20 minutes long, except the lunch mods, which are 26 minutes. The schedule is on a two-week cycle. Shelton High School is the main high school of the district with 1,509 students. They have a "California Style" campus with multiplie buildings connected by outdoor walkways. In 2019, a renovation was done replacing one of the buildings with a 3-floor academic building. And updating a few parts of the other buildings.
In 2003 bids were taken for the construction of the school. [3] The school grew every year until it reached the capacity of all four classes (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior) in 2008. The Heritage High School class of 2008 was the highest grade each year it was at Heritage, and was its first graduating class.
